International Journey to Justice:
Catching Natalee Holloway’s Killer

April 18, 2025 – October 2, 2025

When Natalee Holloway disappeared on a 2005 graduation trip to Aruba, it sparked an 18-year journey for her mother. Immediately flying to where her daughter was last seen, Beth Holloway, along with friends and family, made every effort to locate Natalee. In a matter of hours, the group informed the Aruban authorities that Joran Van der Sloot was the last person seen with Natalee when she left a local nightclub. Van der Sloot was arrested several times in connection with Natalee’s disappearance but was released each time due to lack of evidence.

Van der Sloot was extradited to the United States in 2023 to face extortion charges related to Natalee’s death. In 2010, Van der Sloot contacted the legal representative of Beth Holloway, asking for money in exchange for information about the location of Natalee’s remains and the circumstances of her death. This exhibit will explore Van der Sloot’s guilty plea, the great lengths Beth Holloway went to get justice for her daughter, and the life of Natalee Holloway that was senselessly cut short twenty years ago.
