Medical Marijuana

Medical marijuana is a specific prescribed use of the drug marijuana for medical purposes. Medical marijuana prescriptions require a primary physician’s recommendation, signature, and license number, because while it can be used to treat medical conditions, it is also a highly abused drug that is illegal.

Since marijuana is so widely abused, its production for medical usages is very carefully regulated. Cultivation centers can distribute marijuana to medical patients. Similarly, places known as dispensaries or dispensary centers can also give medical marijuana to patients in any form deemed suitable.

There are many products, even candies and pastries, which contain marijuana in order to help make taking the drug easier for the patient.

The marijuana used for medicinal purposes has to undergo tests of quality that are quite thorough; this stems from the impurity of the drug marijuana, which is generally abused and may be laced with poisons or other drugs.
